The Aeolian Islands

Lipari, Salina, Vulcano, Stromboli, Panarea, Filicudi and Alicudi - each one shaped by fire, wind, salt, and sea.

After sailing through them all, you realize the Aeolians are more than islands. They’re a way of slowing down, living outside, and feeling completely free !

4AM wake up call. Just the two of us - sailing, fishing, chasing the horizon.

80 nautical miles to Panarea with the Furlstrom sail flying at 9.5 knots, no stops, no slowing down.

Somewhere along the way we caught a swordfish, which sounded like a brilliant idea until we had to wrestle that slippery sea monster onto a moving sailboat without losing a finger, a winch, or our dignity. Honestly, nobody tells you the “catching the fish” part is easier than the “what now?!” part. Somehow we still made it before the vulcano Stromboli , and now dinner is safe, for us and our buddy boat friends too!

Early wake-up mandatory - don’t start after 8:30am unless you love suffering in the sun 😅

About 2 hours to loop around the top of the volcano, totally worth it.

Bring lots of water, proper shoes, and just enjoy the views of the Aeolian Islands

Panarea is the Mediterranean at its most effortless - volcanic hikes with endless sea views, whitewashed terraces, teak yachts, and candlelit nights by the water. A discreet favorite among sailors, designers, and celebrities escaping the spotlight, the island blends barefoot luxury with timeless Italian charm.
